What is trauma-informed counselling?

Trauma-informed counselling is a counselling approach that recognizes the widespread, deep-seated impact of trauma on an individual's life, focusing on safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment rather than just fixing symptoms.

Often survivors of trauma experience PTSD or CPTSD including but not limited to - anxiety, depression/low-mood, nightmares/sleep disruption, impact on eating and appetite, dissociation, flashbacks, poor memory, hypervigilance, stress, self-blame. I am able to work with client’s experiencing these presentations.
